As parents will already know, many children seem to be spending more and more time playing on consoles such as Xbox 1 or PS4, either alone or with their friends, or on social media such as Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat. Whilst some games are enjoyable and ‘age appropriate’, others are not. I know many of you will have already talked through the possible risks and ‘dos and don’ts’ of gaming online and social media but it can be difficult to keep up to date with the current trends. To help parents with this, we have subscribed to Knowsley City Learning Centres who supply us with monthly Online Safety Newsletters. These have current and up to date advice regarding which games to maybe avoid plus lots of other general helpful advice for parents. These will be sent home each month and we will also have copies on this page. We would be grateful if you could please read through these and share the information with your child or children if you wish to. Staff will also be talking through the Newsletters with children in school time and may complete some activities based on the information given. I hope you will find the Newsletters informative and helpful.
